In a year where a lot of talent are emerging out of the blue, add Tessa Thompson to the list. Last seen on the short lived TV series, 'Hidden Palms,' and formerly a series regular on Veronica Mars, Thompson has been added to the cast of 'Make It Happen,' a dance film being directed by Darren Grant ('Diary of a Mad Black Woman').

The story will revolve around a small town dreamer who moves to Chicago with the hopes of joining a prestigious dance company. Sadly, she is forced to work in a burlesque club when things go haywire

Also starring in the film are Mary Elizabeth Winstead, and Riley Smith. Dance films seem to be the thing to do when a young actor comes into the biz and judging by the numbers at the box office, the genre is doing well. With 'Stomp The Yard,' 'You Got Served,' and the many other dance films that have been out, Tessa can gain a new audience.

Shooting begins in August in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
