It's not a big stretch, but it's a start. Recording artist Cassie will be featured in the sequel 'Step Up 2' for Touchstone Pictures. She will also sing a song featured in the film and on the soundtrack. Briana Evigan, Robert Hoffman, Telisha Shaw and Adam G. Sevani are also in the film. There will also be a MySpace talent competition where the winner might appear in the film.
Set at the Maryland School of the Arts, the story follows revolves around dance student Patrick (Hoffman) and rebellious new student Andie (Evigan). According to the Hollywood Reporter, Touchstone is asking aspiring singers and dancers to upload audition tapes to the film's MySpace page. That footage will be reviewed by the filmmakers, who will select a group of finalists. MySpace users will then vote on winners, who will either get to appear in the film as dancers or land a place on the soundtrack. The first film starred Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan, and Mario and grossed over $65K at the box office.

Movie? That makes sense. A lot of folks have already compared the child to Aalyiah so following the buisness in that singer-meets-modeling-meets-acting isn't a big shock. Or at least it shouldn't be.
