Back in July when I first mentioned that all four ladies (Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon) from the show finally approved of a script to set 'Sex and the City: The Movie' in motion, I wondered if there would be any color, or African-Americans added to the film. Outside of Blair Underwood, who regained some fame for his short stint on the show, I could only recognize Rochelle Aytes (Madea's Family Reunion), Asio Highsmith, and Sundra Oakley as the only Blacks to appear on the show. With the film getting ready to shoot, the producers have brought on Oscar Winner Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls) to add some spice to the film.
According to Variety, Hudson, who's in final negotiations, will play 'Louise', the assistant to Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw.
Pic revolves around the lives of the four main "Sex and the City" characters, four years after the time frame of the finale of the HBO series, which wrapped its six-year run in 2004. Pic will begin shooting in New York on Sept. 19.
I know that Hudson needs more work to silence her critics. Although she has one film under her belt that's been released, she did WIN the Oscar for her performance. I hope that they don't make her character some lacky who's just there to take orders from Carrie Bradshaw. She deserves more than that and I hope the screenwriters adds some depth to her role.
Hudson recently completed 'Winged Creatures', in which she plays the daughter to another Oscar winner, Forest Whitaker. 2008 should be a big year for Ms. Hudson!

Ummmmm, Something smells good in the kitchen. Oh, that smell is the Crow that Simon Cowell is having for dinner. Look at this, the Idol contestent who's life he made a living nightmare is taking all of that Simon negativity and pushing it back in his face. I am proud of Jennifer Hudson, very proud. Although she is not putting out albums, like Kelly clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Fantasia, and Chris Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson is a true American Idol success story.

I LIKE JENNIFER HUDSON BUT I DID NOT NEED TO SEE HER IN SEX AND THE CITY. I JUST WANTED TO SEE MY FOUR REGULAR WOMEN. I'M GLAD SHE'S INTO MAKING MOVIES BUT I DONT NEED TO SEE HER EVERYWHERE.

I like the show. I like Jenifer Hudson...but why the hell would she go from a Oscar winning performance artist to a secretary role on a trend movie. I think she can do better.
