Talk about hitting the pavement in a big way! Just recently Naomi Campbell was making news as she landed a lead role in Catherine Breillat's film,'Bad Love', and now she's landed another plum role, but this time is it's a supportive role for a well-known director. In an interview she did with British Vogue magazine, Campbell states that she has signed on for a small role in Spike Lee's new film, 'Miracle at St. Anna' .
"It's a very very small role but it involves subject matter that I'm really passionate about...it's a subject that nobody has ever touched upon. There are all the war time films of course but you never see a black soldier in any of them. I'll do anything for Spike and I really think we should be more educated about the role of people of colour in our history." - says Campbell.
I know that Spike Lee loves to give folks a shot. Tisha Campbell, Halle Berry, Cynda Williams, Queen Latifah, Rosie Perez, Rosario Dawson, Theresa Randle, and Dania Ramirez have all benefited from being in a Spike Lee film, and hopefully Naomi will too.
