It was only a matter of time before someone captilized on Evan Ross's good looks and put him in a romantic. Between 'ATL', 'Pride', and 'Life Support', Ross has done some impressive dramatic films and continues to impress producers as he grows in the business. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Ross will star opposite Hilary Duff in the interracial teen romance, 'Greta'.
Duff will play the title role of a waitress who falls for an ambitious cook (Ross) at the restaurant where they work. But as their summer romance heats up, she has to overcome the concerns of her grandparents (Burstyn, Murphy) about her boyfriend's criminal past. The comic drama is now shooting in New Jersey.
"Greta" is produced by Whitewater's Rick Rosenthal (director of "Halloween: Resurrection" and "Bad Boys"),

Why is a criminal past the key to conflict in this racially charged film? The criminal past is an excuse for the grandparents to defend their racist views. The light skin of the main character makes the Brother acceptable to some because he has a Caucasian or Hispanic influence mixed with his Negro past. These factors combine to avoid dealing with the harsh reality that America was built on racism and it still exists in the hearts of many. If the Brother was a doctor or lawyer raised in a Cosby family, would that make him more acceptable? Hell no! Racism thrives in the dark or when it's hidden by thing that scare us all. The criminal past is a cop out. Why is a Brother settling for a damn waitress? They should call this movie "Booty Call."

Why is it that anytime an interracial movie is made it is always the black person with a criminal past, and the white being afraid of what her parents would think, why don't we do role reversal let her have the shady past and let him be afraid of what his parents might think of this white girl with a shady past who is dating their son.I like that plot but will it ever be made I think not!!!!!!

All racism statements and comments aside, we have enough of that in everyday life. I just like to say the movie sound very interesting and more power to all the actors. I will pay my money to watch it.

Evan, is Diana Ross son, by her billionair greek ex-husband? I give her credit for going always to the top to get men that are way richer than she is. unlike most of the other black men and women, who usually end up with some poor white spouse, that they have to support and when they divorce, that white spouse ends up taken them for millions. Evan Halle Berry, is buying her white boyfriend a resturant. So I give it to Miss Ross, when she goes for a white spouse, she goes to the top of the money chain to get them. As far as Evan, he have to act in whatever they offer him right now. He's trying to make a name for hisself. I say, Evan, you act good, you will go to the top with your skills. You know his mother is a great great actress, but didnot reach the top because she is Black.
