The people, NOT the critics, have spoken! 'Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married?' is the number one film at the box office, having grossed a little over $21 million dollars. Most box office analysts had predicted that the film would be number one, but until Friday's tally came in, they had the film grossing anywhere from $12 to $15 million. Granted, his last film, 'Daddy's Little Girls,' opened up at $11 million, but with star power added in this film with Janet Jackson and Jill Scott, as well as Perry acting in the film, which he didn't do in the last one, success was guaranteed.
Judging by some of the reports I've been reading, everyone seems to agree that this is his best film to date and that they found the film enjoyable and something they can probably compare their lives with.
Coming in a distant second, but still doing well at the box office was 'The Game Plan' with The Rock. That film grossed half of 'WDIGM''s take with about $11 million. So far, the family-friendly film has taken in close to $60 million. With less kids films out in theaters now, the film was destined to be a hit, especially with parents eager to take the tots outside for some air.
With a slew of new movies opening up this week, including Halle Berry's 'Things We Lost in the Fire,' Perry faces the task of keeping his #1 status, but if folks who loved the film spread the word, all good things will come for the film.

I'm really sorry I didn't get to see this movie last weekend. I did go to the movie theater but all of the shows were sold out for the four showings and the next day my sister went to see it and it was also sold out, but I will see this movie because I haven't set foot into a movie theater for the year and if this is the only movie I go to see, i'll be happy.

LET ME INTERRUPT THE POSITIVE FLOW HERE FOR A FEW SECONDS, OKAY? HOW MANY DARK SKINNED WOMEN WITH A MAJOR ROLE ARE IN TYLER'S MOVIE? WE ALL KNOW HOW MUCH HOLLYWOOD AND MANY BLACK MEN ARE TURNED OFF BY DARK AND BROWN SKINNED BLACK WOMEN. HONESTLY, EVEN THOUGH SHE IS PLUS SIZE, IF JILL SCOTT HAD BEEN DARK, DO YOU THINK SHE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN A PART IN THIS MOVIE?

It is great to see so many positive remarks regarding this film, however I disagree. I did not like this film at all. The actors and the screenplay was totally unbelievable and the direction was poorish at best along with the editing. Perry, Jackson and surprisingly Yoba delivered a terrible performance and while the other perfomers were good the script handcuffed them delivering excellence. Jill Scott was refreshing, but her testimony should have been given earlier in the film because by ending I was staring at my watch. Tyler Perry has greatness in him and I hope with continued efforts I (cause I can only speak for myself) will be able to appreciate his work.

I was truly glad to see this wonderful movie. I saw it with 3 of my girlfriends and we all were super impressed with Jill Scotts acting. She actually made me cry along with her as I felt the pain. We also felt that the character played by Tasha smith was so very real and her portral of a strong woman able to see life as it is and keep it real was super fanatastic. We have all met or known men like these men acted. Tyler has basically put the question and answer out there as in all of his movies there is a strong message. Just listen you can hear it loudly. Thanks Tyler for this movie keep them coming.
