Before anyone starts to think whether or not this is another version of 'Monster's Ball', it's not, but Halle Berry does give another courageous performance as a woman dealing with a loss in 'Things We Lost in the Fire'.
After an unspeakable tragedy, two people get a second chance at life in "Things We Lost in the Fire." When Audrey Burke (Halle Berry) loses her husband in an act of random violence, she forges an unlikely relationship with Jerry Sunborne (Benicio Del Toro), her husband's best friend from childhood. Jerry is a heroin user; his addiction has destroyed everything that was once important to him. As Audrey discovers that Jerry is the only person who can help her survive her loss, Jerry finds the strength to overcome his own problems. Cast also includes David Duchovny, Omar Benson Miller and Alison Lohman.
Currently pregnant and a new perspective on life, Berry certainly can talk about being a mom on-screen and the prospects of being a mom.

America loves Halle, but I'm not too certain that the Black community supports her. This sounds like a good movie if you like "Chick Flicks", but it doesn't sound like it helps anyone deal with reality. Why would Halle turn to a friend of an ex husband for comfort? That's a small circle that sounds a little sick to me. If you add in the history of needles associated with a heroin addiction, then you also indirectly add in the potential of an HIV infection. Add it all up and it could look like a lonely woman was being reckless in dealing with the loss of her only love. Wouldn't it be easier for Halle to broaden her circle of friends and go to the gym? With a body like Halle, it would be easy to make new friend. I love Halle Berry in anything she would choose to do. I won't talk about you if I don't care.

Yes, Halle is very beautiful, but I'm sure everyone will agree with me: "Glad the girl is pregnant." Maybe she'll go sit down and raise her child and give us a rest. I'm am so tired of seeing her on the big screen. She reminds me of Beyonce. The media has just shoved them into our faces. Basically, there is only one thing I would love to tell Halle. Girl, go sit down!

When is Halle going to stop playing all those White woman rolls. Meaning rolls that fit white women. I feel she plays so many rolls that show how out of touch
she is or wants to be. Did she think she was to good for a roll in Tyler Perry's "Why did I get married"? I think that would have done better for her career. It doesn't seem like too many White women support her in those typical White female rolls. The acting can be outstanding, and everything else, but in some rolls the color of our skin is just to strong if you can understand what I mean. If you've ever seen a movie with a great actor who just didn't fit in with the cast and the character, then you know exactly what I'm saying. Try Harlem Nights, an allstar cast, an urban plot, African American reality for that time period, lead actor a White woman... Wouldn"t appeal to whites, nor African Americans neer as much as it did.
Keep It Real.
