After appearing with Alicia Keys in 'Smokin' Aces' early this year, and currently gracing the big screen in 'American Gangster' as one of Frank Lucas' brothers, rapper-actor Common is definitely an actor on the rise for next year. In 2008, he will star in a couple of films that features a lot of high profiled names. One of his projects includes 'Wanted', which also stars Angelina Jolie, James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman, Kristen Hager, Konstantin Khabensky, and Terence Stamp.
Based upon Mark Millar's explosive graphic novel series and helmed by the stunning visualist director Timur Bekmambetov--creator of the most successful Russian film franchise in history, the "Night Watch" series--"Wanted" tells the story of one invisible drone's transformation into a dark avenger. In 2008, the world will be introduced to a superhero for a new millennium: Wesley Gibson.

25-year-old account manager Wes (James McAvoy) was the most pathetic, cube-dwelling hypochondriac the planet had ever known. His boss chewed him out hourly, his girlfriend cheated on him daily and his life plodded on interminably. Everyone was certain this weakling would never amount to anything. There was little else for Wes to do but wile away the days and die a slow, clock-punching death.
Until he became Wanted.
After the murder of a father he never knew, Wes discovers powers beyond his dreams. He becomes the latest recruit in the Fraternity--a secret society of assassins--and develops lightning-quick reflexes with superhuman agility. Wes soon learns his league of henchmen has but one mission: carry out the death orders of the mythological Fates, weavers of every man's lifeline.
With wickedly brilliant tutors, he morphs into a killing machine and starts erasing one bad guy after another. But as Wes grows into the mantle passed down by his father...he discovers his clan members are not exactly the enforcers of justice they claim to be. Just as he gets everything he ever Wanted, Wesley Gibson will learn that with the ability to deliver death comes an even more difficult power...controlling your own life.
'Wanted' will be released on March 28, 2008 from Universal Pictures.

This looks kinda interesting but lately I have been experincing what I lable as 'I GOTCHA' movies, American
Gangster being the most recent. I think I'll take my chances by looking at the BVB critics and weed out the haters from the real movie buffs before I take a chance and spend my hard earn $$

hmmmmmm i don't know...the cast is great !but i read the graphic novel years ago.and it does'nt seem to translate well movie wise...i mean, the story is basically about a world where all these super villians put aside there differences and kill or get rid of every good hero on the planet.and take over the world...and then start beefing with one another over this kid who's the son of this great assassin..it works in a comic/graphic novel sense on paper...on the big screen ????
well, with the exception of angela jolie,i don't want to see morgan freeman or any other person in spandex...still,it maybe interesting.have to wait for some public feedback before i go out and spend my money.

This movie looks highly interesting, but comparing it to Equalibrium....thats a stretch. Equalibrium is still one of the best action movies i've seen with a compelling and probable story line. by far Christian Bale at his best. Save The Dark Knight.
