I haven't seen Robin Givens in a high profiled role since she did 'Boomerang' with Eddie Murphy back in 1992. That was, wow, 15 years ago. Then again, she was the lead in that awful Damon Wayans film, 'Blankman' and had a supporting role in 'Head of State' with Chris Rock.
In a vehicle to make a comeback on the big screen, Robin Givens will be playing top-rated D.J. Wendy Williams in 'Queen of Media: The Wendy Williams Story'. Since I'm usually in the office and don't have the radio on 24/7 I haven't listened to Ms. Williams on the radio often enough to be a fan or know if her story is worth telling on the screen, but there are producers who feel otherwise.
Besides Givens, the cast includes Michael Boatman, Trey Songz, Erika Ringor, Oliver 'Power' Grant, Deelishis, Fredo Star, Salt 'N Pepa, Claudette Ortiz, and DJ Red Alert.
The director of the film is Furquaan Clover, who will also direct 'The Vapors', the hip hop film on the Juice Crew.
For most people divorce, multiple miscarriages, infidelity, insecurity, rape and a penchant for controversy would be a career detriment, but for nationally-known, top-rated D.J. Wendy Williams they only served to make her stronger – and more determined to succeed in an industry stacked against women, especially African-American ones. From her early days as a child fighting a weight problem to her later ones overcoming personal and career adversity, the QUEEN OF MEDIA is an honest telling of the life story of Wendy Williams as she struggles against bad choices, hard luck and always being an outsider; a born rebel who is constantly at odds with anyone who wants to tone her down, reel her in or lead her on, be they bosses, boyfriends or family. Ultimately QUEEN OF MEDIA is an inspirational tale of how self-realization and redemption helped her overcome her inner-demons, and how her determination to "keep it real" eventually brought her happiness and success.
'Queen of Media: The Wendy Williams Story' will be theaters sometime in 2008.

I used to be a big Wendy Williams fan and used to listen to her radio show regularly. I stopped about 7 or 8 months ago, because her show was turning into something else. I thought she was tooting her own horn way too much. Way too much. Anyhoo, I doubt I will pay to see this. I'll watch it on DVD.

I've seen so many pics of Wendy and just now see how she has been able to change up styles so often. They're lace wigs! I just recently found out what lace wigs are and I want one! Oh, and Robin Givens, she has been wearing lace wigs for years! We'll see if Robin can pull this one off.

Robin Givens Is A Good Choice To Play The Role Of The
"Controversial" Wendy Williams. This Should Be A Boost To Both Of Their Careers.

Robin Givens is back! I really like Robin and I hope she does a great job in this film. I saw her in an interview a few weeks ago when she was talking about her career. Some reporter had to make mention of Mike Tyson while interviewing her. I guess you can't talk about Robin without putting Mike Tyson in the same sentence. Does anyone know if Wendy Williams experience abusive relationships. I read an article on her and she went through a divorce, miscarriage, career problems but I didnt see anything about abuse. I know that Robin Givens was abused by Mike Tyson and so was the celebrity publicist Pam Pinnock just wondering if the great Wendy Williams went through an abusive relationship like Pam Pinnock did. The publicist wrote a book about the abuse she encountered with Mike Tyson so I am guessing if Wendy Williams experience abuse Robin will have to tap into her past to bring out how she felt when Mike Tyson used to slap her around.

I love "The Wendy Williams Experience", I listen to it everyday...she's often candid and honest and shoot straight from the lip when giving advice. She "dishes the dirt" like no other, I'm interested to see the movie as I haven't read any of her written work.
She can coin a phrase like no other..." How U doing".
