Not only did Idris Elba make a stride in his film career by starring and appearing in 5 big films (Daddy's Little Girls, 28 Weeks Later, The Reaping, American Gangster, and This Christmas), but 2008 will have him in more films just as well including his latest project, which will reunite him again with producer Will Packer, and have him star opposite Matt Damon.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Elba has joined the cast of Screen Gems' bank heist thriller "Bone Deep," playing a member of a group of bank robbers enlisted in pulling off a $20 million heist
Rainforest Films co-founder and chair Will Packer is producing, with John Luessenhop directing. Luessenhop co-wrote the screenplay with Avery Duff, Gabriel Casseus and Peter Allen. Casseus also is an executive producer on the project.
The film stars Matt Dillon as Los Angeles Detective Jack Welles, a troubled workaholic who pursues the gang of robbers.
He can next be seen in the Screen Gems remake of the slasher movie "Prom Night."
