Shortly after it was announced that John Singleton would be directing a film version of the TV series 'The A-Team', Variety mentioned that Ice Cube was being considered for the role of BA Baracus, played famously by Mr. T.
The story, as most should know, is about four Vietnam vets, framed for a crime they didn't commit, who help the innocent while on the run from the military
While out in LA to promote his latest film, 'First Sunday', Ice Cube spoke about playing the role if given the opportunity.
Would you consider taking on the role of BA Baracus?
Ice Cube: Hell yeah, especially with John Singleton directing!
What would you bring to the character?
Ice Cube: I wouldn't try to duplicate what Mr. T did, but I will have the same impact on you when you were little watching the TV show. I'm going to bring my own flavor to it and I am going to do the mohawk.
So, is the role definite for you?
Ice Cube: I don't know. They want me to do it if all the business works out right. I was a fan as a kid and that would be, not a dream come true, but it's definitely a good thing to do and I would put it on my resume for sure.

Sal you are wrong. Cube didn't disrespect our black leaders, one of the characters in the "MOVIE" (which isn't real life) had some unflattering things to say about certain black leaders. I go to a black barbershop and I can assure you, this type of conversation goes on. Cube, Cedric, and the writers and producers (all black) of Barbershop also are familiar with black barbershops and the conversations that go on there. And what they depicted in the movie as far as the conversations and subject matter in these shops were right on. If you think that's bad, you should go to a black beauty shop and listen to those women's conversations about love, life, religion, and politics. You and Jesse need to let this go. It was a movie that mirrored real life in these shops.
