It's been some time since we last saw Orlando Jones on the big screen and in a major role. This guy started out as a writer for lots of shows like 'A Different World', and 'Roc' , and he then paid his dues writing and acting on MADtv and before he broke out in Hollywood with small roles in 'The Replacements' with Keanu Reeves and 'Biker Boyz' with Derek Luke and. Next came a prominent role in the hit film 'Drumline' opposite Nick Cannon. Last year, he appeared in the horror film 'Primeval', but no one saw that. Even with some episodic work on numerous TV shows like 'Girlfriends', Jones needs to be on the big screen more.
Well, The Hollywood Reporter is stating that Jones will star in the indie dramedy "Misconceptions."
Directed by Ron Satlof from a script he wrote with Ira Pearlstein, the story centers on a religiously conservative married woman from the South who receives a message from God telling her to act as a surrogate mother for two gay men.
Jones will play Terry, the hopeful parent who comes to the woman's home to micromanage her pregnancy and in the process causes havoc. The film also stars A.J. Cook (CBS' "Criminal Minds") will play Miranda, the woman who decides to carry the child for the gay couple, Sarah Carter, Sam Ball, David Sutcliffe and David Moscow, who will play Jones' life partner.

i think this will be a pretty cool movie. it's never wrong for anyone to want to have a child, regardless to his/her sexual orientation. i believe if well written/scripted this movie will tell the story of many people.

I am defiitely looking forward to seeing Orlando Jones play this role, as well as being in another movie. I have been a big fan of the various roles he has done. Thus far my favorite would have to be "Double Take"...TOO FUNNY!

I do not want to see Orldando play a homosexual. He is a fine black actor and I would prefer to see him take the leading role in a romantic film opposite a famous or up and coming black actress. I am tired of seeing black men as homosexuals in plays and I weary of seeing them on the silver screen in dresses i.e. drag and castrated waiting for some white actor/actress to save the day. Lets man up and write some roles for black men to be just that...MEN!

Great, another movie about gays, We can't get enough good movies about regular black couples, but we get this pushed upon us.And by the way I don't have a natural fear of homosexuals(the true definition of phobia)I just don't care for the life style.

orlando, I wish you all the best of luck in all you do. I rather you not play this role as a homosexual. I rather see you play different roles perhaps of a character who is a romantic. Since you an attractive man, that type of role would be best for you.

Why aren't those types of relationships considered normal by your standards? If you don't like something you either pray about it or simply ignore it...especially when it doesnt effect your life directly. Just because you dont want to see a movie about this doesnt mean it these types of relationships don't exist. None of us have a heaven or hell for anyone, and none of us are without sin. Homosexuality does not weigh any more heavy than murder or stealing...yet we all go to the movies to see people steal and kill.
This movie simply depicts the life of two homosexual men who are having a baby. Believe it or not this is more "regular" than you may think. Orlando Jones is a great actor, and I think this is a great role for him...gay or straight.

This role is no different from Denzel playin a crooked cop, Larry playin a wife-beater, Chris playin a crackhead, or even better Eddie playing a womanizer. All of this stuff is real, everyday life. If you dont wanna see it don't go to the theater!!
