Things aren't looking good for Eddie Murphy these days. In fact, it's going from bad to worse. Not only has his marriage to Tracy Edmonds imploded, but his last film 'Norbit', which was release last February, was just nominated for 8 Razzie Awards, including Worst Film and Worst Actor of the Year.
Eddie's not alone on this list. Cuba Gooding Jr. was nominated for Worst Actor for his dismal performance in sequel 'Daddy Day Camp'.
It's funny that only a year ago at this time, Eddie Murphy was celebrating an Oscar nomination for his role in 'Dreamgirls'. But when Paramount Pictures decided to release 'Norbit' during the Oscar voting period, it pretty much sealed his fate. Although 'Norbit' was a worldwide success with $158 million dollars, including $95 million dollars domestically, Murphy would lose the Oscar to Alan Arkin of 'Little Miss Sunshine'. More drama ensued when he was proven to be the father of Spice Girl Melanie Brown's baby, to which Murphy denied initially.
Funny enough, because he played multiple roles in 'Norbit', Murphy was also nominated for Worst Actress and Worst Supporting Actor. If he were to sweep the awards, that would be a record no one could match.
Lindsey Lohan's I Know Who Killed Me actually has the most nominations with 9, but that film came and went in theaters that no one saw it. Cuba Gooding Jr. on the other hand needs a agent who could get some good parts. He's being nominated for a role that Murphy created with 'Daddy Day Care', but Gooding Jr. is NO funnyman.
The awards ceremony will take place on February 23, 2008.

I'm not sure who's doing the judging on movies!! But I myself felt it was funny as hell!!! To me its a keeper to watch over and over again!!! You can't please every-one.... Enjoy your new lovly wife and keep running to the bank Eddie.... And let haters to what they do best (HATE)!!!

That movie was great. I agree with most the comments.. Its all in the eye of the beholder. If he were to sweep every category, that would be pathetic. The numbers don't lie. The movie did well and made money... Can the other Nominee’s say that?

I thought the movie was hilarious...I'm bout to watch it again on HBO. Shawn(or Marlon I get them mixed up) was also hilarious as h*ll too as the Dance Instuctor. The movie made bank and every body know that the white man put out the movie to discredit and keep Eddie from getting the Oscar for Dreamgirls. But Eddie should have known when they were going to put the movie out.....now "How you doooing!"

Eddie Murphy should have passed on this movie. I did not go to the box office to see this trash but my kids kept telling me it was funny, so I watched it on television. The movie was a big disaster and I was surprised that Charlie and Eddie Murphy were listed in the credits. I feel a great deal of sympathy to Eddie's personal challenges but he needs to reevaluate his life and career based on his raw talent. Norbit was an F-listed movie (aka f**k up movie and a poor image of plus size black women). I now Eddie does not need the money so what was his motivation??????

Shouldn't anyone be angry with "Norbit" unless you are indeed , "Fat, loud, angry, and a man hater. It was a movie people! Eddie is an ACTOR, Comedian and he is TALENTED!!!If you were offended, then lose weight, quiet down , stop hating men, and give your BP a break and stop being angry.
