Coming out on March 21 will be the latest film from Tyler Perry, 'Tyler Perry's Meet The Browns, which features the return to the big screen by Madea, the indomitable, law-breaking, fun-loving grandma , and the return of Angela Bassett in a leading role.
What is new this time around is the film is being a month after the Oscars have occurred.
Unlike his last film, 'Why Did I Get Married?', which was released in the fall last year, all of his other films ('Diary of a Mad Black Woman,' 'Madea's Family Reunion', and 'Daddy's Little Girls') have opened to great success during Oscar weekend.
Written and directed by Perry and based on his own play, the film also features David Mann, Tamela Mann, Jenifer Lewis, Lance Gross, Chloe Bailey, Mariana Tolbert, Rick Fox, Sofia Vergara, and Irma P. Hall.
The plot?
A single mother living in inner city Chicago, Brenda has been struggling for years to make ends meet and keep her three kids off the street.
But when she's laid off with no warning, she starts losing hope for the first time – until a letter arrives announcing the death of a father she's never met. Desperate for any kind of help, Brenda takes her family to Georgia for the funeral.
But nothing could have prepared her for the Browns, her father's fun-loving, crass Southern clan.
In a small-town world full of long afternoons and country fairs, Brenda struggles to get to know the family she never knew existed...and finds a brand new romance that just might change her life.

I applaud Tyler Perry. His name is part of every household today (Madea). The plays & movies are so refreshing and my parents (85 & 86) just have so much fun watching them. It makes me feel good inside to know they can watch a decent movie and enjoy it so much. One second you are laughing your head off then your are wiping tears away. Every character in the plays or movies remind me of someone I know or have met. Keep up the work Tyler. You are blessed with such inspirational talents. Congratulations AGAIN.

I laughed and cried during the short trailer. Never has a trailer had such an emotional impact on me. I look forward to Meet the Browns and plan to see the film in a theater (not bootleg) with my entire family, because after all, family is what makes life enjoyable.
Bravo in advance to Tyler Perry.

I'm happy to see Angela and Jennifer reunited. Their chemistry was fantastic in 'What's Love Got to Do With It'.
Re. the comment about reaching further with more challenging subject matter, this is Tyler's area of talent. We know H'wood limits our images with selective greenlighting. In the social networking era though, we are able to at least use that medium to get our messages out. Buy that camera, get a crew, put it on YouTube and make it happen. If your work is awesome, you can make an impact with messages YOU want to see.

I'm not a Tyler Perry fan (oops!) but for those of you who are...I think you probably could make just as good or even better plays. His ideas behind his plays and the moral of the story is Great but I think he exploits the church. I have my doubts about his committment to God. A genuis..yes...devoted to a relationship with God..hmmmm???? but you CHRISTIANS who enjoy seeing him play a cussing pistol packing "woman?" I wonder if maybe youre all just bored...there's plenty of OUTREACH to do in your communities, maybe that's a better way to spend some free time....just a thought. Peace www.ministerdorettalee.com
