If you thought that Eddie Murphy would have learned his lesson after 'Norbit', guess again. 'The Nutty Professor' was hilarious at the time it came out, but 'Norbit' was a bit too much. I don't recall 'The Adventures of Pluto Nash' being a success or 'The Haunted Mansion', so the horror or sci-fi genre doesn't work in his favor, but he keeps trying. Here comes another film where Eddie plays more than one role.

Dave Ming Chang (Eddie Murphy), newly arrived in New York City, may be the ultimate fish out of water. There's something about him that's not quite right – for starters, he seems remarkably out of place and uncomfortable in his own body. And for good reason: "Dave" is not a man at all, but a ship made in the image of its miniature-sized captain. It's Eddie Murphy in Eddie Murphy in 'Meet Dave.'

Directed by Brian Robbinns, who helmed 'Norbit', the cast also includes Elizabeth Banks, Gabrielle Union, Ed Helms, Judah Friedlander, Pat Kilbane.

20th Century Fox will release 'Meet Dave' on July 11, 2008
