The last time we saw Tyrese Gibson on thje big screen, he was fighting 'Transformers' and staying alive. Prior to that he had done a small indie with Meagan Good in 'Waist Deep', where he played a doting father just out of jail and has to rob banks to get back his son. Well, coming out in limited theaters is another small he plays the opposite to that role in 'The Take', which also stars John Leguizamo, Rosie Perez, and Bobby Cannavale.
Felix De La Pena ( John Leguizamo) is an armored car driver struggling to make ends meet for his wife Marina (Rosie Perez) and two kids in East LA's Boyle Heights neighborhood. But their lives are thrown into chaos after Felix miraculously survives a violent on-the-job hijacking led by Adell Baldwin (Tyrese Gibson), a merciless criminal driven by power and greed. Now facing a difficult recovery and struggling with a nasty new temper, Felix becomes obsessed with tracking down his attackers before they frame him for the crimes they committed.
'The Take' opens up on April 11, 2008.

I am still mad that this guy was on stage singing to records on a DJ turntable kit. If you sing have a band not a DJ turntable kit. If you are a Rapper the turntable kit is expected because they don't know how to play instruments. But when you are singing love songs atleast have a guitar a drum set and a horn. This was the worst concert I have ever seen. I will not see the movie or go to another concert of his.

Tyrese is multitalented and every musical interlude and movie he makes just proves that!

Randy not all singers have live bands behind them these days. I guess it's more cost effective to play intrumentals at a concert than tho actually pay real muscians to perform. Nonetheless, Mr. Gibson is a very talented entertainer who seems to have embraced acting as a second or third (he also is working on a rap album) way to reach the masses. Now that type of talent has come about since the early years.

Tyrese will always remain an excellent singer, and now, actor. I remember him from the days of his Coca Cola commercial. I remember seeing that commercial and saying to myself, who is this dark skin cutey with the bright smile. I didn't even hear the song until the second time I saw the commercial.
I love Tyrese. I wish him all the best in his quest to win an Oscar! Yup that's right he's headed for an Oscar. I have faith that he will make it.
I will always be his fan.

I would have rather seen Tyrese gettin' it on with Rosie Perez. I've noticed that Rosie has avoided being the love interest of the black guy in her latest movies eversince her career picked up. What you don't remember how you played Spike Lee's girl in 'Do The Right Thing'? He gave you one of your first big breaks! Also Keenan Ivory Wayans gave you a break on his show 'In Living Color'! Comeon Rosie, lets not have amnesia! You're koool so lets stay that way! An no disrespect to my latin brutha' from anutha' mutha' Juan Leguizamo! I ain't hatin' on you coz Ukool as ice creem too!
