Dimension Films has release the first official stills of Ice Cube's summer film, 'The Longshots', which is directed by Fred Durst, and co-stars Keke Palmer, Tasha Smith, Jill Marie Jones, and comedian Earthquake.
Based on a true story, a poor Illinois town comes together behind the local Pop Warner football team and their unlikely quarterback, Jasmine Plummer, the first female in Pop Warner football history. Under the tutelage of her uncle Curtis, a former high school football star, Jasmine leads her team, the Harvey Colts, to the Pop Warner Super Bowl and inspires the town of Wallace to reclaim some of its former glory.
'The Longshots' will be released on July 25, 2008.

Please THINK Brothers and Sisters and stop being so emotinally tied to personalities.
This movie is yet another step backward for us as a people. Here we have yet another movie where another young African American girl with a no-good daddy, an over worked mommy and a slacker uncle makes her mark by being a she-male not a female. And to make matters worse, the slavery induced light skinned / dark skinned rivalry is played out with the not-so-subtle Beyonce, Tyra Banks target scene; but I am certain that no solution is offered in this film to help us deal with this psychosis that we suffer from. The fact that this movie is based on a true story is irrelevant.
WAKE UP and smell the sterotypes people.
