Lionsgate has provided BlackVoices.com with an exclusive look at the final poster for 'Tyler Perry's The Family That Preys.'
Directed and written by Tyler Perry, his talented cast includes Kathy Bates, Alfre Woodward, Tyler Perry, Cole Hauser, Sanaa Lathan, Rockmond Dunbar, Taraji P. Henson, Kadee Strickland, Sebastian Siegel, and Robin Givens.
Academy Award-winner Kathy Bates and Academy Award-nominee Alfre Woodard star as the matriarchs of two very different families being torn apart by greed and scandal in the contemporary drama. The sixth feature film by Perry chronicles the inner workings of two families-one upper-crust and the other working class-that become inextricably linked by scandal.
The film comes out in theaters on September 12.
Wealthy socialite Charlotte Cartwright (Kathy Bates) and her dear friend Alice Pratt (Alfre Woodard), a working class woman of high ideals, have enjoyed a lasting friendship throughout many years. Suddenly, their lives become mired in turmoil as their adult children's extramarital affairs, unethical business practices and a dark paternity secret threaten to derail family fortunes and unravel the lives of all involved. Alice's self-centered newlywed daughter Andrea (Sanaa Lathan) is betraying her trusting husband Chris (Rockmond Dunbar) by engaging in a torrid affair with her boss and mother's best friend's son William (Cole Hauser). While cheating on his wife Jillian (Kadee Strickland) with a string of ongoing dalliances with his mistress Andrea, William's true focus is to replace the COO of his mother's lucrative construction corporation. Meanwhile, Alice's other daughter Pam (Taraji Henson), a kind but no nonsense woman married to a hard working construction worker (Tyler Perry), tries to steer the family in a more positive direction.
While paternity secrets, marital infidelity, greed and unsavory business dealings threaten to derail both families, Charlotte and Alice decide to take a breather from it all by making a cross-country road trip in which they rediscover themselves and possibly find a way to save their families from ruin in 'The Family That Preys.'

I am looking forward to see his movie. It looks so different from what hes done in the past and the diverse cast will indeed open his work up to some who have yet to see his movies. I will be there opening weekend and encourage others to do the same.

Tyler I love your work, but that last movie was a flop. Hopefully this one will be better than that one. I'm sure it will because you have some great actors in this one.

I can't wait for this one to come out. Tyler Perry does an excellant rendition of showing the true essance of an american family. Young people need to know that there is so much promise available to them. My friends and I are planning our girls day out.

Tyler Perry is a great actor and creator....u can relate to his movies as if it were ur own life, they dont have that hollywood script that most movies have. After watching one of his movies, you walk away feeling like you were actually there and not just watching it on a movie screen. TYLER PERRY HAS MADE HIS MARK AND HE IS HERE TO STAY....He always has great actors and actresses in his movies. He also knows how to bring a person from d-list status to a household name whether it is casting them in his plays or in his movies..

CONGRATS...........THIS SHOULD BE ALOT DIFFERENT THEN THE MADEA'S STEROTYPICAL ROLES.
IT SHOULD BRING IN A DIFFERENT CROWDED OF PEOPLE, DUE TO THE MIXED CULTURE OF CAST MEMBERS AND A NEW INTRIGUING PLOT.
IT SHOWS TYLER PERRY HAS BIGGER IDEALS.
CONGRATS AND BEST WISHES TO THE CAST,DIRECTORS, PRODUCERS AND THE WRITERS.
PEACE
COZI

I loved all of the first 5 or six movies, but it seemed that they keep getting further away from God in content. The words are there, but they seem to be gravitating towards another "demographic" rather than Christians. I know the bottom line is money, but don't tell me this is a family movie and when I get there, my kids and I are blushing due to gestures and insinuations. I love you, Tyler, but stay true to your first love - Jesus!!! Can't wait to see Bates! She is a favorite!!!
