It's about time these guys came out of whatever shell they were hiding under. In 1993, Allen and Albert Hughes blazed on the screen with the cult classic 'Menace II Society;' that starred Larenz Tate and Jada Pinkett Smith. Then they followed it with 'Dead Presidents', which again featured Tate, and Chris Tucker and N'Bushe Wright. A few documentaries came in between their next feature, 'From Hell', which starred Johnny Depp. After 2001 , they dropped out of sight for years. Now they are back and with a new film that will star Denzel Washington.
Variety states that Washington will star in 'Book of Eli," a post-apocalyptic drama that will be directed by Allen and Albert Hughes.
Washington will portray a lone her o in a not-too-distant apocalyptic future who must fight across America to bring society the knowledge that could be the key to its redemption.
Alcon Entertainment is financing the film and Warner Bros. will distribute. Gary Whitta wrote the script, and Anthony Peckham did the rewrite. Shooting begins in January.

I saw their "Pimps Up Hos Down" documentary and wondered where they've been. This new flick ought to be interesting.
