
No stranger to the world of animation, Oprah Winfrey will be doing it again as she will voice a character in Disney's upcoming 'The Princess and the Frog,' The information was revealed at a Walt Disney Studios Showcase Event Wednesday. She will play Eudora, the mother of the titular New Orleans princess, Tiana, voiced by Anika Noni Rose.
Winfrey's previous animation work included 'Charlotte's Web' and 'Bee Movie'.
Written and directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, the film is a musical set in the legendary birthplace of jazz - New Orleans. 'The Princess and the Frog' will introduce the newest Disney princess, Tiana, a young African-American girl living amid the charming elegance and grandeur of the fabled French Quarter. From the heart of Louisiana's mystical bayous and the banks of the mighty Mississippi comes an unforgettable tale of love, enchantment and discovery with a soulful singing crocodile, voodoo spells and Cajun charm at every turn.
The cast includes also features Bruno Campos, Keith David, Jenifer Lewis, Peter Bartlett, and John Godman.
The music is by Randy Newman. The film comes out in 2009.
