My goodness, does he always save the world single handed. Seems like another attempt for will smith to try to be a deep actor(Not) I am not a fan Mr Smith, Perhaps you should do some of the heroic things in real life that you pretend to do in your films. Give something back to your public and those who helped you get to where you are. That is a god like person, you are starting to become the Greatist in your own Legandary mind. How about starring with a real black actress once in a while too. Just a thought, there are real lovng black couples out there like the obama's

Ok Keisha Brown...that's mad unneccessary when us folks need to be supporting each other we rip each other down. Why don't you do your history on Mr. Smith, he is a humanitarian and actually has funds in a school...but whatever your ideas are you ideas there is nothing wrong with what he doing.

Ms keisha,
I don't think you are as informed as you might think.
I remember when the Fresh Prince first made it big back in the 80's as a kid and had no real life experience or money managing skills. He took everyone that he tought were friends and a whole community to the bank with him and they almost broke him.
He has bounced back from that bad experience and still has a good spirit, still giving back to the public and less fortunate. He has founded a school (with his wifey). As far as starring opposite Black women, he did Marry Vivica Fox in Independence Day and Regina King was his wife in Enemy of the state.
Are they Black enough?
He is a pioneer in hip hop as well, and has always kept it fun and clean.
I bet you are a lil Wayne fan. I know he is talented young brother but, can you tell me what has he given back besides sperm? That brother is too young to have so many kids.
If he was not as successful as he is would he be that dad.
Anyway, staying on track.
Don't hate what you don't know. We all can talk to just say something, but to speak and have a full understanding of what you are addressing tells us you are aware of more than the projects you are living in.

Come on y'all. This is NOT that serious. I happen to be a Will Smith fan, but if others don't like him, that's on them. I'm not a Tom Cruise fan, but the world loves him. Will does what he does off-screen, and those of us who like his work know the things that he does. That's all that matters. If you want to see the film, GO SEE IT! If you don't, it's all good, go see what YOU want to see. I'm going to be at the Will Smith movie!!!!

Thanks to both Nellie and Big for clarifying some facts on Will Smith. Some people should have their facts straight before you attack someone.A lot of stars give to the community they just choose not to attain publicity for it.Think about it,if someone needs to inform certain media outlets that they are donating to charity then...how sincere are they really. The brother is doing his thing(king of the box office)and instead of trying to condem him on his lack of black leading ladies(which is not true and he's married to a black woman isn't he)give him credit for having a soild marraige in hollywood of all places.

For Madame Keisha Brown:You bloody idiot! Will has no power as to the talent chosen in any of his films. If you want to cast any blame, see Hollywood. As far as his acting abilities, he has proven himself to be an excellent actor, and is deserving of all the accolades being given to him. Offscreen, he and Jada have been involved in quite a few charitable and social causes. They aren't as hubristic as most stars, and don't feel the need to announce everything they do. Maybe they feel that the cause matters more than celebrity status.

Will smith is a great actor and he can play any part in the movies. He has had so many great parts and he has played all of them very well. I reallyliked him in Ali and the pursuit of happiness. I did not like then in the men black series. I tought they were very stupid. Not a good part for him. But he made that big money for sure. In fact the whole family are good actors and actress.

Why do we expect so much more from our actors and professional athletes than we do from our brothers, fathers and husband? Will Smith is an actor no more no less. He doesn't have to be a philanthropist or a humanaterian. If you like him, go see his movies; if you don't like him don't go to see his movies. Me personally I look to the men and women in my family for strength and guidance.
