For those who saw Alicia Keys make her film debut in 'Smokin' Aces' and may have wondered how her character hooked up with her partner, played by Taraji P. Henson, and became hired assassins could be in for a treat. Writer/director Joe Carnahan has stated on his website that a prequel has been given the go-ahead to start production.
The original 2007 action-comedy, released by Universal Pictures, starred Ben Affleck, Andy Garcia, Alicia Keys, Ray Liotta, Jeremy Piven, Ryan Reynolds, Peter Berg, Taraji Henson, Chris Pine, Martin Henderson, Jason Bateman and Common.

No word on what the story will be or who may come back, but Carnahan promises that some of the actors from the original may appear in cameos.

Alicia and Common kicked ass in this movie! cant say im looking for a prequel though the movie was good, but it was wierd and different to me. but thats what made the acting interesting.

very funny,involved movie...was'nt sure where it was going.you kinda knew there was a point.but was like huh ?!? then you get there and your like okay...the journey getting there was fun..and alicia keyes and taraji henson made it so

The movie was so unique, two black hip hit women, crafted, crazy, skilled at what is out there, making the money. I loved the contract woman with the fur coat in the restaurant; I loved Alicia, and Taraji, together they are terrific!!! They play like For Real; so Natural, so structured and involved in the script. It is a money maker; I await the runner up;sequel...I believe they killed Taraji; but I know they can bring her back; like she lived through the gun shots. They make the picture; what a female team.

I love Vegas type,out of Da hood gangsta,blow'em up Bang Bang movies. Yeah, the movie was over the top, but you kinda knew that going in. I thought the whole cast was good. I'll go the next Smokin Aces

this was a new version of pulp fiction. With some smoking black lead characters and a kick ass plot! I LOVED THIS MOVIE!

HONESTLY... I JUST WATCHED SMOKIN' ACES FOR THE 1ST TIME 2 WEEKS AGO... AND I LOVED IT... IT'S WAS CRAZY BUT DIFFERENT AND I ENJOYED IT SO MUCH THAT I WENT OUT AND BOUGHT IT 2 DAYS AGO... I HOPE THIS PREQUEL IS AS GOOD AS THE MOVIE... AND I HOPE THEY PUT COMMON FINE ASS BACK IN THA MOVIE 2.... LOL
