Coming out next month in limited theaters is 'Black Dynamite', which stars Michael Jai White.
Directed by Scott Sanders, the films also features Salli Richardson-Whitfield, Obba Babatunde, Kym Whitley, Mykelti Williamson, Bokeem Woodbine, Kevin Chapman, Tommy Davidson, John Salley, Chris Spencer, Phil Morris, Brian McKnight, and Arsenio Hall.
This is the story of 1970s African-American action legend Black Dynamite. The Man killed his brother, pumped heroin into local orphanages, and flooded the ghetto with adulterated malt liquor. Black Dynamite was the one hero willing to fight The Man all the way from the blood-soaked city streets to the hallowed halls of the Honky House.

This is either going to be brilliant satire, of a major bomb! I'll check it out if it reaches my area...

I would like to think that my people will go out and support this in the theaters....however I know even with President Obama's win hundreds will support the bootleg version.

I came through this era. Please, "STOP THE VIOLENCE". Why can't Hollywood blacks find better film for our kids? Let's just start doing "Stephen Flechin" movies. The resurgence of the worst films in Hollywood in the 60's, is still THE WORST FILMS IN THE 2008'S. While I like Michael, I don't think Kim is that good at all. As a matter of fact, she really gets on folks nerves. Most of her stuff fails, miserably.
My think is thumbs down on this, if we can't do better... all I can say... THERE will be no improvement on the next generation of our youth!!!
If American Gangster, and that other violent show, black folks love don't tell you to STOP THE VIOLENCE... I can't say anymore! TOO EMOTIONAL!!!
If "That's Entertainment"... then whoooa!!!

I grew up in this era and i find nothing wrong with this movie or the concept...this era brought about a concious movement for Black Men to be strong in the face of Danger i remember my dad being proud when Richard Roundtree or Fred Williamson was "Sticking it too the man"...There are so many genre of movies thanks to Spike Lee and now Tyler Perry....and i appreciate whats in between and Young Black guys need to see Super Heroes of themselves just as Caucasians have Jason Statham(Snatch,Transporter) or whoever is the flavor of that month...And Black Actors need all the support we can give them whether you like them or not and Kim is improving she did a great job with Martin Lawrence(College Road Trip)WE...make or break are own...i chose to make them even if i an not crazy about a certain part it may propel them to grow into better method or character actors... A or B list

Why is it when a film comes with Black people we feel if it aint a Malcome X/ Great Debators then we are taking a step back....Their is a great range of entertainment out there and if Michael Jai White and the superb cast decides to have fun and make fun (With hidden deep thought provoking situations)of a nostalgia era of Blaxploitation then i am supportive of it. Some feel because they are from that era they own it...the rights to it...well YA DONT, can you dig it!!! you jive muthafwaaaaaahhhh.... there is a younger generation who interest will be piqued, and may research it a older generation who will reminisce on the powerful to the obsurd moments of that time...I'll go see it because Black actors and film makers and writers need all the support they can get.......
