Jada Pinkett Smith's film, 'The Human Contract,' will be released on DVD on June 30.
Starring in the film are Jason Clarke, Spanish superstar Paz Vega, Idris Elba, Pinkett Smith, Ted Danson, Joanna Cassidy and Tessa Thompson.
The film follows Julian Wright (Clarke), a charming and megasuccessful businessman with a secret. With his personal life in shambles, Julian finds himself willing to travel down the rabbit hole, when he meets Michael Reed (Vega), a gorgeous stranger who entices Julian to forget his rigid corporate world and adopt a more bohemian lifestyle, a decision that not only affects his life but also inspires his half-sister, Rita (Pinkett Smith), to re-examine her own.
Pinkett Smith, who makes her directorial debut, wrote the script. Husband Will Smith is one of the executive producers.

I live in the real world, i understand that a person can write any story they want, but putting herself into the story as the half black sister? Give me a break. If she's going to write and make her directing debut, be realistic with the story line. That might be why the movie went stright to dvd. Obviously the audience saw the picture the same way.

I love Jada, always have, every since she walked on the set of A Different World....she's talented and she's real! I am proud of her and even if the movie went straight to DVD, at least she did what she wanted to do. When you have the financial backing she does, she can do whatever she wants and not be limited by "white" Hollywood. Give the sister her props....at least she puts Black movies out there and hires Black actors....not to mention all she does for the Black community. As us old heads would say, "YOU GO GIRL!"

Lola This is her first movie. Not the first first she's been in but the first being produce by her husband for her. Obviously you have not seen it, What blacks are you talking about? that she has hired. She the only major black in this film and at that she makes herself half black. Read the story line. Had other like cosby thought like that. She wouldn't be in film industry today. That why kudo's goe to perry. And i'm a fan of jada, believe it or not

I'm proud of Jada. She keeps on truckin on and trying new things. She's probably having more fun than any of us.
I write screenplays and make short films, and I've love to write for Jada. She knows how to get into character, however, she has a lot of critics who envy her, and quite possibly out of jealousy of her and her husband and their family and life.
But what I love about her is that she KEEPS on keeping on, and very much like myself, she tries new things.
