Lionsgate has provided Black Voices with an exclusive first look at Tyler Perry's 'I Can Do Bad All By Myself,' starring his signature character, Madea.

Written and directed by Perry himself, the film stars Taraji P. Henson, Mary J. Blige, Hope Olaide Wilson, Brian White, Kwesi Nii-Lante Boakye, Frederick Siglar, Gladys Knight, Marvin Winans, and Adam Rodriguez.

When Madea, America's favorite pistol-packing grandma, catches sixteen-year-old Jennifer (played by Wilson) and her two younger brothers looting her home, she decides to take matters into her own hands and delivers the young delinquents to the only relative they have: their aunt April (played by Henson).

A heavy-drinking nightclub singer who lives off of her married boyfriend Raymond, April wants nothing to do with the kids. But her attitude begins to change when Sandino (played by Rodriguez), a handsome Mexican immigrant looking for work, moves into April's basement room. Making amends for his own troubled past, Sandino challenges April to open her heart. And April soon realizes she must make the biggest choice of her life: between her old ways with Raymond and the new possibilities of family, faith...and even true love.

Knight will play Wilma, a kind of matriarch of the neighborhood and singer at Marshall Baptist Church, where Madea also circulates. Knight, Winans and Blige all will sing in the film, with Blige performing an original song penned by Ne-Yo.

'I Can Do Bad All By Myself' is based on Perry's play of the same name and will be released on Sept.11.
