Cedric the Entertainer is back on his comedic game as he brings together a host of comedians, from Tommy Davidson to Aries Spears in 'All Star Comedy Jam,' a special produced by NBA player Shaquille O'Neal and Jeff Clanagan.
Filmed before a spirited crowd in Phoenix the night before this year's NBA All-Star Game, Cedric performs 30 minutes of his latest material in between comedy sets by Davidson ('In Living Color'), Kevin Hart ('Soul Plane'), Aries Spears ('Mad TV') and DeRay Davis ('Scary Movie 4').
'All-Star Comedy Jam' will be released on DVD on Sept. 8.
The hysterical 88-minute DVD features celebrity cameos by Katt Williams and Nelly and Ashanti and includes uproarious backstage commentary from each comedian.
The series recaptures the spirit of past successful franchises like 'The Original Kings of Comedy' and features some of today's hottest urban comics. It also provides the up-and-coming comedians with an opportunity to showcase their creativity and perform alongside the stalwarts of the business.

Through with this buffoon. After what he said in that butt-dancing movie "Barbershop" about the Honorable Rosa Parks all I want to do is slap this kneegro if I ever see him in person, and take my beat down from his bodyguards. That's is one ass whipping I am willing to take. The Honorable Rosa Parks was our Mother Teresa; she lived an exemplary life and Black men allowed her to be disrespected twice (when that dirt bag assaulted her in her home) and both of these kneegroes got away relatively unscathed. I thought Cedric was a very talented brotha; he was already established and didn't have to utter those words. What a clown. Know what I want be watching.

Ugh! I thought we were done with debate years ago. Here's the thing... Instead of offending, the idea of the movie was to make fun of while sparking debate about the things that take place in our community. Mission Acoomplished! Job Well Done!
Jesse Jackson started this bs because he was pissed about what was said about him. Truth hurts. By being a trifflin' no good ho' he opened the door for whatever backlash he was given. If the finger is going to pointed at anyone, it should be him. He used Rosa Parks' name as a weapon. Shame on him.
Now about Rosa Parks...do you really think that she sat in that seat as a way of taking a stand? Let's be real, if she had not worked for the NAACP, she would have been yet another Black person arrested. Let me give you something to ponder...do you think she would have refused to get out of her seat, if she didn't work for the NAACP? Please don't get me wrong. I am forever grateful to her. Let's just remember that while her actions were brave, she was not alone and she was not the 1st Black person to be arrested for standing up for her/himself.
My son is autistic. Most handi-cap jokes are not funny to me. However, I wont knock someone's honest way of making a living. Btw, I love Arnez J's jokes about his brother. I often imitate his "you don't want none" punchline. I'm quick to call someone normal-boy.
Why do we insist on taking everything so personal? If you don't stand for something you'll fall for anything is true. However, if you don't blow that bleep out, you'll choke on it. I prefer to blow it out with laughter.
You have to find humor in life, otherwise the real will kill you (high blood-pressure, storkes, heart attacks...)

Do we really know the true facts about that bus ride? I heard something different but no one really knows. I like Cedric and he's a comedian.

It was a comedy. You're sounding off to a comedian making a joke.

Keeping laughing, because this joke is on us. Is there anything sacred to Blacks anymore besides our position in the shadows of european's hyprocrisy? It is no coincidence that most Black
movies that make it to the big screen are comedies and that is all we have on the small screen are comedies. Everything is not funny. But we produce Blacks that are willing to spit on their ancestor's grave like on an assembly line. Keeping laughing all the way to the bank and keeping watching our race continue to be the joke and our culture continue to decline.

I agree that it's sad that most black movies that make it to the big screen are comedies. However, part of the reason is that black audiences flock to black comedies more than serious black movies. Few black people went to see Spike Lee's last few serious movies and the studios take that as a sign that we don't want to see black dramas and thrillers but we'll fill the seats to see Madea and those silly Friday movies. Or some shallow hiphop/gangsta movie that looks more like a music video than a movie. We need to support black directors who make serious dramas about ourselves. That way they can get bigger budgets to make bigger movies.

The whole point of that scene was to show how barbershops are as much a place for debates as harmonious discussions. I've been in plenty of barbershops and heard my share disagreements and outlandish statements just like the Rosa Parks argument. Heard from plenty of barbers and customers who refused to vote for Obama and got flamed for it. But iIt's not about whether you agree or disagree about it. It's to show that the black community is more multi-opinionated than the media would have the world believe and always tries to show.
