This is the fifth of Perry's eight films to debut at number one. 'Bad' is the third highest, behind 'Madea Goes to Jail,' ($41 million) and 'Madea's Family Reunion' ($30 million).
Coming in second place was the Focus Features animated film '9,' with $10.8 million, while Quentin Tarantino's 'Inglourious Basterds' continues to pull in audiences, bringing in $6.5 million for third place and a cume of $104 million. The film should be able to catch up the Weinstein Company's second best film, 'Pulp Fiction,' which made out with $107 million during its run.
Sandra Bullock's 'All About Steve' nabbed $5.8 million for fourth place, while last week's number-one film, 'The Final Destination,' dropped $5.5 million to keep the franchise lucrative.
Two of this week's newcomers, 'Sorority Row' and 'Whiteout,' performed poorly, bringing in $5.2 million and $5.1 million, respectively.

I saw this movie, and like most of his movies, I laughed, cried, cheered and was touched by the message in it. I thought it was very uplifting. The music was great, I am looking for a soundtrack.

this movie sucked so bad........the music & singing turned me off but the acting was good......seriously if u like musical make a musical but why does everymovie he make hav to hav singing or musical interlude........not everyone is a fan of bolloywood type movie minus d dancing
