British Singer Leona Lewis to Sing Theme Song For 'Avatar'

This has been a big year in which some big name singers are contributing their talent to the film world.

Not only did Mary J. Blige make her film debut in 'Tyler Perry's I Can Be Bad All By Myself,' but she also contributed songs for that film as well as for the Lebron James documentary, 'More Than A Game,' and the intense Lee Daniels drama, 'Precious: Based on the novel 'Push' by Sapphire.'

American Idol's Adam Lambert recently sang the end song to this week's number one film, '2012,' and coming up in December, Def Jam Records crooner Ne-Yo has a tune from the forthcoming Disney picture 'The Princess and the Frog.'

Joining the music-in-movies fray is British pop and R&B singer–songwriter Leona Lewis, who is the voice of the theme song for the eagerly anticipated James Cameron-directed epic, 'Avatar.'

The 24-year-old 'X-Factor' winner -- whose sophomore opus, 'Echo,' was released today -- will sing 'I See You' during the closing credits and will be on the film's soundtrack, 'Avatar: Music From The Motion Picture.'

Producing the song are James Horner and Simon Franglen, who famously worked on Cameron's Oscar winning blockbuster 'Titanic,' in which their hit song 'My Heart Will Go On' was sung by Celine Dion in 1997.

'Avatar', which opens Dec. 25, stars Sam Wothington, Zoe Saldana, Michelle Rodriguez, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, CCH Pounder, and Laz Alonso.

Taking place in the future, Jake, a paraplegic war veteran, is brought to another planet, Pandora, which is inhabited by the Na'vi, a humanoid race with their own language and culture. Those from Earth find themselves at odds with each other and the local culture.
