Sony Pictures just released some official stills of 'The Karate Kid,' which stars Jaden Smith, Jackie Chan and Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson.
The film is a new version of the 1984 hit of the same name that starred Ralph Macchio, Pat Morita, and Elisabeth Shue.
In this remake,work pressures cause a single mother (Henson) moves to China with her young son (Smith); in his new home, the boy embraces karate, taught to him by a master of the self-defense form (Chan).
Producing the film are Jerry Weintraub (who launched the original franchise) and Overbrook Entertainment's James Lassiter, Ken Stovitz, and Jaden's father, Will Smith.
The film opens on June 11, 2010.

he is a cutie and comes from 2 of the many good, professional actors/actresses in the business (will & jada)...i only expect an excellent career for jaden (and willow). he did very well in pursuit of happyness.

a remake of karate kid is not necessary: I have no plans on seeing re-hashed dribble: if others care to eat it up go for it but I'll bet your ticket money you already own the best version!
