Screen Gems has provided Black Voices with some exclusive shots at a new comedy starring Chris Rock and Martin Lawrence .
Directed by Neil LaBute, the duo will star in 'Death at a Funeral,' a remake of the 2007 Frank Oz comedy of the same name and centers on a funeral ceremony that leads to the digging up of shocking family secrets, as well as misplaced cadavers and indecent exposure.
It's their first pairing since both were featured in 1992's 'Boomerang,' which starred Eddie Murphy and Halle Berry.

Also starring in the film are Tracy Morgan, Zoe Saldana, Columbus Short, Peter Dinklage, Loretta Devine, Ron Glass, Danny Glover, Regina Hall, James Marsden, and Kevin Hart.
Screen Gems will release the film on April 16, 2010.
Rock's last film, 'Good Hair,' was recently named one of the top five documentaries of 2009 by the National Board of Review, while Lawrence's last film was the ensemble comedy, 'Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins.'

Now this movie I would pay to see. This is the kind of work that Martin (and Jamie) should be doing, not that tired (old) Wanda and Shenene bit.
Um just sayin'!

Meh!!!..... Typical schtick. Doesn't look that much different than "...Roscoe Jenkins" or any of the other slapstick black flicks that have come out over the last few yrs. And who gave Chris Rock another movie role??? Hollywood hasn't learned yet that he can't act?? Let him stick to stand-up and producing. He done had a decent screen performance since New Jack City.

This movie is a remake of the 2007 movie of the same name that was directed by Frank Oz (Sesame Street & Muppets). Actually, this is a well written script and very funny. The original actors were all from the UK. It is great to see the African American version of it instead of the usual hollywood fare. Peter Dinklage is the only actor from the original movie. Sorry, it is not the usual schtick and this is 100% better than Roscoe Brown.

Sometimes folks...we have to be grateful that African American actors are working. At this time and age in the game we could use a lil humor. Meanwhile back at the ranch. Im glad to see some new blk men on the screen.
