Is Beyonce that hot in demand? She's either loved or hated by the entertainment world.
After celebrating her record six Grammy wins and then nominated for a Razzie Award for Worst actress of 2009, the latest story is that she's attached to act opposite Oscar winner Russell Crowe in yet another remake of 'A Star is Born.'
The story is coming from the LA Times blog, who states that Warner Bros. is now looking at the 'Gladiator' star as the lead opposite her. If you've seen the previous versions that came out in 1937, 1954 and 1976, you know that the movie is about an aging, alcoholic musician who mentors/is schooled by and then finds romance with a younger female star.
The project has been in development hell with several producers and actors attached at one point or another, including a Will Smith/Jennifer Lopez pairing. Nick Cassavetes, who directed 'The Notebook,' is still in talks to direct this one.
The article also states that if it comes off, a Crowe-Beyonce pairing would serve as one of the most prominent onscreen interracial romances since 1992's 'The Bodyguard,' which teamed Kevin Costner with the female singing sensation of the day, Whitney Houston. While that film received mixed to negative reviews, it was a blockbuster at the box office, grossing over $410 million worldwide. The soundtrack to the film became the best selling soundtrack of all time, selling over 17 million copies.
While Oscar winner Crowe will next be seen in Ridley Scott's remake of 'Robin Hood,' Beyonce isn't confirmed for any film roles at presstime.

This is coming from someone who've seen the 1932 version What Price Hollywood staring Constance Bennent, the 1937 version with Janet Gaynor and the 1957 with Judy Garland severltimes.. I say NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO..what's next Beyonce as Lady McBeth??? This will be a colossial flop as Beyonce does not have the acting chops to carry off a film that takes you.. It starts off upbeat. a young nobody working hard to be somebody, makes it.. marries a famous ma, but as she gets more famous her husband's star falls, he loses fame, plunges deeper into alcholism and in the 1937 version commints suicide.
Beyonce maybe pop princess supreme but she doesn't have that depth in acting to carry that range. I think Jennifer Hudson is Esther Blogett. She made her start on American Idol-a virtual unknown, has faced tragey and like the 1957 versionw/Judy Gardland she can sing.
i will not be supporting this joke of a movie- it will go down as flop of remake

Why can't Hollywood find someone with some actual acting experience to be in this film. This film has been made and remade several times and they need to understand that we as the general public are tried of these remakes. Especially when their is no change in the storyline. How could they possible think that she is best for this role. And if they are talking in the stake of making money, they need to lookat the youth of this country. The spend their money on anything. Beyonce and Crowe will not appeal to them very strongly. Check the box office for Cadallac Records and Obsessed. She could not act here way out a paper bag. And another thing I thought that Lauren Hill won 8 Grammy's for her Album, which would mean Beyonce did not make history. Then when artist were asked to participate in the remake of We Are The World, she or Jay-Z refused to take part especially when she was in town. I guess if her pocket wasn't going to profit from why do it. The producers need to deeply rethink this situation. For people ae tried of her.

Beyonce has only been in 6 movies and in those 6 movies there have been other black actresses. She's not hogging the screen from other black actresses. Why don't some of you've the same critique for Angelina Jolie, Kate Winslet, Penelope Cruz (who's in a movie every 6 months), etc..Maybe they need to give somebody else a chance more than Beyonce does. To Wilson Morales, Sandra Bullock got an Oscar nod and a Razzie nod in the same year. Jennifer Lopez has 6 Razzie nods and 2 wins, Julia Roberts has 2 Razzie nods, Angelina Jolie has 5-6 Razzie nods, etc. So does the entertainment world hate them....Beyonce is successful and gets some great opportunities because of her hard work and talent, so obviously the entertaiment industry respects her rightfully so. Beyonce co-produced Cadillac Records and gave Gabrielle Union one of her better parts in years. So she's creating roles for black women. She had terrific black actors like Jeffrey Wright, Columbus Short, Mos Def, Eammon Walker, etc...that benefited from being in that movie also. Obsessed did very well at the box office better than a lot of recent movies from Angelina Jolie, Anne Hathaway, Kate Hudson, Penelope Cruz, Julia Roberts, etc....Obsessed did it without a major budget and other big name A-list actors to help Beyonce out. I think acting is so objective. I think that Beyonce has been pretty good in everything she has done. Cadillac Records probably being her best role and the one that she got the most Oscar talk fir. Even Meryl Streep said that Beyonce was good in that movie. There are so many other non-black actresses that don't have any more acting talent than Beyonce that keep getting to work and a chance to get better. They're full-time actresses. I think Beyonce should be affored the same courtesty. I think she has tremendous potential. I believe she'll knock this role out of the park.

nothing aganist none of the races, all i am saying is give someone else a chance. and at the mension of the dreamgrils movie i do not understand your point. there are many other black actress and singers give some of them a chance. if they had not given jennifer hudson then no one would have know that she had all of the talent she has on the inside of her. someone gave a lot of the people in the industry a chance, and to be trueful we do need to see new faces every now and then. its refreshing to see new people in these movie remakes and new movies period. and theres nothing wrong with the same people all of the time but people get tired and wants something new and someone who has not been all over the tv, stage, magazines, i think the people on a whole would appreciate someone thats has never really acted before are hey give jennifer the role . let some of the others make a little paper. besides that i thought that bey had her own production company any way shes in a spot where she can help her people and hire them to make movies ????

I disagree. I think Bey can act. However, I think there are actresses out there that deserve a shot at their chosen craft which is acting. I think when it comes to movie roles they should always first go to the actress then to singers.

Beyonce cannot act!!! It is that simple. Everybody can't be good at everything. Beyonce needs to stick to what she does best. They should give the role to someone who truly possess the craft of acting. After awhile it gets annoying. Beyonce is not an actress period.
