It's been a while since we've seen actress Monica Calhoun, who first gained prominence in Ice Cube's 'The Players Club' and later 'The Best Man' with Taye Diggs. After a few independent films and some episodic roles on various TV series, she's hasn't been seen on the big screen since starring in 'The Salon' with Vivica A. Fox in 2005.
The Philadelphia native may not have taken on any Hollywood roles recently, but she's stayed busy. She's now headlining a Web-based original series called 'Diary of a Single Mom,' which also stars Billy Dee Williams, Richard Roundtree,
Brooklyn Mclinn and Leon.
The series chronicles the lives and challenges of three single mothers and their families trying to get ahead despite obstacles, such as child care, health, education and finances.
Produced and directed by award-winning filmmaker Robert Townsend, 'Diary of a Single Mom: Season 1' debuted on PIC.tv in 2009 and won awards for best indie soap and best guest actor from the Indie Soap Awards.
Season 2 debuted on PIC.tv on Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, to kick off Black History Month. The eight episodes in the season will air consecutively on Thursdays.

Whatz up wit the writer or editor, who address the young sister as a slut from the movie The Players Club? You mean to tell me he or she did not have a better choice of words. Although, I interpreted that you were refering to the character that she played, it just doesn't sound right calling her that. It does BV a diservice as well as the beautiful sister, who happens to be good at her craft.

The writer may have chosen to use, Players Club "Dancer" Now "Single Mom". Which is what she was, and now is. "Slut" was way too inappropriate a term to use I feel, as a "Teaser" to get us to read this article.
