Valentine's Day is upon us. And that signals a season of love. Why not really help bring it in with a special treat from the one and only Tyler Perry?

Lionsgate has provided Black Voices with some exclusive images from 'Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too?,' which reunites the acclaimed filmmaker with Sharon Leal, Janet Jackson, Malik Yoba, Jill Scott, Lamman Rucker, Richard T. Jones, Tasha Smith, and Michael Jai White.

Starring the same cast and characters from his 2007 hit comedy/drama, ''Why Did I Get Married?' the sequel brings us the next chapter in the lives of eight college friends struggling with the challenges of marital life.

Gathered together in the Bahamas for their annual one-week reunion, four close couples eagerly reconnect, sharing news about their lives and relationships. But their intimate week in paradise is disrupted by the unexpected arrival of Scott's character Sheila's ex-husband, Mike (played by Jones), who hopes to break up her new marriage with Troy (played by Rucker) and win her back. The others soon realize they too are not immune to the challenges of commitment and fidelity. Angela (played by Smith) doesn't believe her husband, Marcus (played by White), can be faithful now that he's a celebrity television newscaster. Dianne (played by Leal) and Terry's relationship is feeling the strain of raising children. And Jackson's Patricia, a successful self-help psychologist, must finally reveal the deep flaws in her seemingly perfect marriage to Yoba's Gavin. With their relationships hanging in the balance when they return home, each couple must choose between blame and forgiveness, doubt and faith, with life-altering consequences.

Although the original film was an adaptation of the stage production with the same name, the sequel is an original concept written by Perry, who portrays Terry. This is also the fourth film of Perry's that doesn't include his Madea character.

Bringing in $55 million dollars from the box office after its release in 2007, 'Why Did I Get Married?' is the third highest grossing film of Perry's films, behind 'Madea's Family Reunion' ($63 million) and 'Madea Goes to Jail.' ($90.5 million).

Emmy Award winning diva Cicley Tyson and Academy Award winner Louis Gossett, Jr. are also in the cast.

Lionsgate will release the film on April 2.

Combined, five of the films have grossed upwards of $250 million worldwide, some within budgets below $6 million. And with the major money train also comes associating with some of the biggest names in and out of the entertainment business. BlackVoices.com takes an introspective look at how a former homeless man turned chit'lin circuit theater czar has connections to the likes of Michael Jackson, Denzel Washington, Whitney Houston and Will Smith, to name a few.
