Now that the Academy Awards are over, Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe will be heading to the small screen as the Brooklyn, New York native is set to star opposite Laura Linney and Oliver Platt in the dark comedy series, 'The Big C' for the Showtime network.
Set in the Connecticut suburbs, the half-hour series stars Linney as Cathy, a repressed suburban wife and mother who reclaims her life after a terminal cancer diagnosis. Platt will play her immature, but well-meaning husband.
Sidibe, who was nominated for her role in Lee Daniels' 'Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire,' will play a smart-alecky student in Cathy's class.

'The Big C,' which will begin shooting 13 episodes in May for a late summer premiere, is created and written by Darlene Hunt, who will serve as executive producer, along with Linney, Neal H. Moritz and Vivian Cannon. It is produced by Original Film in association with Sony Pictures Television. Acclaimed writer/director/producer Bill Condon ('Dreamgirls') directed the pilot.
Sidibe's next film role is a supporting part in the independent film, 'Yelling to the Sky,' which is directed by Victoria Mahoney, and co-stars Zoe Kravitz, Jason Clarke, Antonique Smith, Yolonda Ross, and Shareeka Epps.

I hope she takes a lesson from Jennifer Hudson, and many others who took advantage of deitians, nutriticianists, personel trainers, makeup artists, speech coaches, voice coaches, and many other professions understanding very smiple money can make you health and beautiful outside. Inside she'll have to find her own balance, and hopfully she has enough foundation to maintain or fine one.

Sandra Bullock IS NOT LOSING HER LOOKS!! Why do people think that people lose their looks as they make it to another year on this earth. People are so ready to make people feel old because they have been here on this earth longer than they have. The only one getting OLD is the one who makes such remarks. People need to respect the aging/maturity process because it begins to happen the moment that we are born. I guess you could say a baby is losing their looks everytime they have a birthday. It is a TRANSFORMATION/TRANSITION of a HUMAN BEING which is a very interesting process. SANDRA BULLOCK IS MORE BEAUTIFUL TODAY THAN SHE HAS EVER BEEN. SHE IS HAPPIER TODAY THAN SHE HAS EVER BEEN. Gabby, is a very intelligent young lady and she does have skills--unlike some people of another color..i.e. Paris Hilton, Heidi from the Hills, Lindsay and several other so called "celebrities" so if she choses to pursue acting I'm sure Hollywood will keep supplying roles!! Not everyone wants to see some 5LB while boney female in a frigging swimsuit or bikini!! People want to see quality entertainment not frivilous BS-and I'm sure Gabby loves the skin she's in and at some point maybe Weight Watchers or Nutri-Sysem will offer her a deal (it's all about being "HEALTHY")!!

Just leave the poor child alone. She has a mother and she has a Heavenly Father who will see her through. I will be interceding for her and I hope that all who know how to do so will join me. She is one of God's lovely and blessed creation and I declare that no weapon (verbal or other) formed againgst her will prosper. All blessings for her today and always.
