Former NFL player Isaiah Mustafa, whose fame has recently risen due to his popularity as the new face of Old Spice products was just given a role in Tyler Perry's much-buzzed-about film adaptation of 'For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf.'
While speaking to Oprah Winfrey via satellite about his newfound celebrity success over the commercials, Mustafa talked about auditioning for film parts, including one for an upcoming Tom Hanks movie, television pilots and Perry's upcoming film.
When he asked the reigning queen of daytime television to put in a good word with Perry, Mustafa was surprised when the filmmaker got on and stated, "I just want to tell you, you got the part, man. You did a great job. You got the part."
The Arizona State University alum joins the all-star roster, which already includes Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Jurnee Smollett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, Loretta Devine,Macy Gray and Anika Noni Rose.
Based on Ntozake Shange's award-winning 1975 play, the film is scheduled to shoot in June in New York with a possible winter 2010 release date.
After playing for various teams in the NFL, Mustafa appeared on episodes of 'Castle,' 'Days of Our Lives', 'Eli Stone,' 'Football Wives', 'NCIS,' 'NCIS: Los Angeles' and 'Ugly Betty.'
According to Advertising Age, the Old Spice "I'm on a Horse" commercial -- in which the 36-year-old Mustafa appears -- saw some 1.6 million views in the two weeks after it debuted during the Super Bowl.

Oh, it seems that Derrel, Gene, and Santos are having a little penis envy. So sad. It's ok though. Your wives will go back to you after a black man has satisfied them like you can't.

I laugh every time I see a white woman with "bee stung" lips courtesy of injections or a prominent derriere courtesy of padded underwear and/or surgery. These are the same people who used to worship lip and butts that look like this: ________.
Whenever Blacks have a fair chance to compete, we excel. They always feared that this was true and now they know it.

First of all Gene, Oprah is not a racist. if you know anything about her, her audience encompasses many races and ages; but I am sure your ignorance is blind and it simply won't allow any type of logic to manifest in that little brain of yours. Secondly, Oprah is not from Africa she was born in the United States of America; is very well know and respected throughout the world. I have personally seen her give out cars to people of your race (oh it is my assumption that you are the pure, high and mighty whitie) and have seen her shape the lives of millions of people not to mention employ hundreds of people with a great deal of her workforce of the caucasian persuasion. Now, I was not raised to be prejudiced as my ancestry is of diverse backgrounds including caucasian. and you know what? I am not ashamed of any part of my heritage I walk tall, upright with my head up high. What did African American people do to deserve being disrespected continually even while highly educated and successful?
Africa is not evil, it is not a curse word but you and people like you have made it seem as if it is. Look in the mirror your prejudiced, uneducated sob it is you that you loathe.

I am very excited about this film-making of "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuf" .... it will be interesting to see it as a film. The stage play and poem series is amazing. For those of you who don't know, each poem is the first-person story of a woman's life, each noted by what she's wearing: "The Lady in Yellow," "The Lady in Purple," "The Lady in Blue." Each woman has a powerful story about love, rape, abortion, etc. Given the cast line-up, the film will more than likely be as powerful as the book. This is a story for all women, all men, regardless of race. It should be a must read in high schools!
