With shooting underway in New York City on Tyler Perry's adaptation of 'For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf,' spoilertv.com has posted a few set photos of Whoopi Goldberg, Anika Noni Rose and Khalil Kain.
'Colored Girls' is based on Ntozake Shange's award-winning 1975 play, which consists of a series of poems performed through a cast of nameless women known only by a color. The characters deal with subjects such as love, abandonment, rape and abortion.
The female cast members include Janet Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Anika Noni Rose, Phylicia Rashad, Jurnee Smollett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, Loretta Devine and Macy Gray.
The male cast member include Hill Harper, Omari Hardwick, Isaiah Mustafa, Richard Lawson and Khalil Kain.
Lionsgate will release the film in 2011.

Update: theYBF.com has some pics of Janet Jackson and Kimberly Elise.

Tyler gets a lot of critism for buffoonary. I dissagree all his movies have messages. This one seems to be turning out to be really good . With a good cast.

You're right. It's very sad that his biggest critic has been Spike Lee. This time Spike is the only crab in that barrel. Inspite of what he says, Tyler's movies have redeeming social value. It's okay to laugh and examine ourselves. It's healthy.

WITH ALL DUE RESPECT TO THE MEMORY OF MICHAEL JACKSON AND THE UPCOMING ANNIVERSARY OF HIS DEATH-
MR. PERRY NEEDS TO DO AN AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL MOVIE ABOUT THE LIFE OF MICHAEL JACKSON AND JANET JACKSON
NEEDS TO PORTRAY HER BROTHER.
