Well, I didn't see that obnoxious old black woman in the trailer... she was in both Tyler Perry movies I watched part of on cable TV. If she was dropped, that's a good thing, I never did understand what was supposed to be funny about her ... later I found out she was actually Tyler Perry in drag. She would always walk into a scene and dominate the conversation. No one would stand up to her and tell her to shut up.

Actually Bill, the character of MaDea evoked from Tyler Perry's (numerous) plays and was not featured in "The Family That Preys" one of Perry's BEST movies to date.
I agree MaDea can be annoyingly obnoxious (point of her character) but she's not half as obnoxious as Mr. Brown (there's a television series featuring him) Geez! His buffoonery antics are worst than Kingfish, Buckwheat, JJ, Amos & Andy all rounded into one. Sickens me when I see his face on the screen.
Anyway, "For Colored Girls" is a far cry from that crap and so worth going to see.

@Bill Tyler Perry has produced other films without Madea being in it. Yes I will be at the movies for this one as well. It looks good!

This movie looks like its going to be good. It has a strong African American cast. I think this is going to be Tyler's first Oscar nominated movie. Much success Tyler..........

Yes, see it on opening day. It is important for films to have a strong showing during the opening weekend. I work in the film industry and believe me, if this film is not number 1 on opening weekend, it will fall in the weeks after and get lost once other films come out.
