I like Sanaa but why couldn't they get someone closer to Laurence's age?

Because they wanted an attractive girl. There aren't too many older women who look good enough to attract audiences. Vanessa Williams is the only women that comes to mind.

These genres of movie always have its audience and will do well at the box office.
2012 was corny but it did really well at the box office. Because movies that show devastation-is always popular-for some morbid reason ( speaking from a fan's point of view ;}
I guess-knowing at the end of the movie-all humanity will be saved-is why we continue to watch these types of movies!
A seasoned actor and youngin? The producers are trying to get 2 birds with 1 stone. The mature crowd and the 30 something crowd.
It's just so typical to see this type of married couple.
It would've been nice to see Viola Davis as the wife. Viola is both pretty and talented!
Oh well-maybe next time!!!!
