Halle Berry is throwing her hat into the Oscar race, and vying for a second award, as her film 'Frankie & Alice,' which was shot over a year ago, will finally be released on December 17 in New York and Los Angeles before its regular theatrical release set for February 4 in the top 20 markets.
Freestyle Releasing will handle distribution with marketing reportedly provided by private funding the producers raised. Ms. Berry is one of the producers of the independent film, reports Deadline.com .
Directed by Geoffrey Sax, and set during the 1970s, this psychological drama is a true story in which Berry plays a young multiracial American woman with dissociative identity disorder who struggles to retain her true self and not give in to her racist alter-personality.
Also starring in the film are Stellan Skarsgård, Matt Frewer, Phylicia Rashad, and Chandra Wilson.
Berry won the Academy Award in 2002 for Best Actress for her performance in the Lee Daniels produced film, 'Monster's Ball.'
Berry has been working a lot recently, as she's currently filming 'Dark Tide' with Olivier Martinez. The Ohio native is set to star in the film 'Shoe Addicts Anonymous,' about four different women with nothing in common but their love for shoes and their 7.5 shoe size. In between films, Berry is slated to star on Broadway in Katori Hall's 'The Mountaintop,' where she will portray a hotel maid who delivers a meal to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on the evening before his assassination.

I think the fact that Halle now prefers White Men is the reason so many of you Black Men say such vile things. It's funny how Men that call themselves pimps and players and have such low morals have the nerve to insult Halle. You're Jealous plain and simple.

Halle's still extremely easy on the eyes and a wonderful actress to boot but I was so severely disappointed with the movie Monster's Ball and the character she played in it that when she rec'd the Oscar I had mixed feelings - the academy was all too happy to pass out awards to not only the most talented, but also to those who incidentally accepted the most humiliating or degrading of roles. It seemed to fulfill every freakin' stereotype known to man. Of course, its entirely possible, that as a biracial person herself (but recognized as black by the rest of the world) that she never viewed it in the same fashion.
I'm already interested in seeing her upcoming film 'Frankie and Alice', especially since its a true story. Its not hard to imagine another Oscar in her future.

@David..halle's fame doesn't come from BM anyway so I don't think your departure will be noticed..I think you Black Men need to get over it and just leave her alone..she's a great ACTRESS (I had to capitalize it because so many of you took her MB role so personally)that's just trying to live her life..just because she prefers White Men shouldn't make all of you so bitter and hateful...people have the right to choose who they want to be with and obviously she prefers White Men..get over it and stop being so emotional and bitter.

This chick doesn't have authentic European features. She got a NOSE JOB to make herself look more Caucasian. Thank God she is playing her own race and not ours.
