
Halloween is Sunday and there's no better time to curl up and watch a spooky movie.
There's a plethora of horror flicks to choose from. That's why BlackVoices.com took the time out to reflect on some of our favorite famous faces who appeared in scary films.
The late R&B singer Aaliyah (picture above) brought a new meaning to striking beauty in the 2002 film, 'Queen of The Damned.' And there's plenty more where that comes from. From the supernatural elements of Oprah Winfrey's last cinematic turn in 'Beloved' to box-office superstar Will Smith fighting off zombie-like creatures in 'I Am Legend,' some of the biggest names in Hollywood have been featured in scary movies.

Scary Element: Tony Todd broke through as an actor when he starred in the slasher-horror film with Virginia Madsen and Vanessa A. Williams about a man who comes to kill when people say his name multiple times.

Scary Element: This horror/supernatural thriller movie, which was Berry's first film after winning the Oscar for 'Monster's Ball', is about a psychiatrist (Berry) in a woman's mental hospital who wakes up one day to find herself on the other side of the bars, accused of having murdered her husband.

Movie: 'Saw'
Year: 2004
Scary Element: As Detective David Tapp, Glover starred in the horror film about a mastermind named Jigsaw who sets up individuals in a deadly game of survival of the fittest.

Movie: 'Thriller'
Year: 1983
Scary Element: Directed by John Landis, this horror film featured the famed singer transforms into both a zombie and a werewolf while on a date.

Movie: 'Alien vs. Predator'
Year: 2004
Scary Element: As one of the few African-Americans to headline a horror film, Lathan played Alexa Woods in this adaptation of a crossover franchise between the titular extraterrestrials from the 'Alien' and 'Predator' series.

Movie: 'Halloween: Resurrection'
Year: 2002
Scary Element: This horror film and the eighth installment in the Halloween film series featured Rhymes with a group of six college students who win a competition to appear on a reality show on which they are to spend Halloween night in the childhood home of Michael Myers.

Wow, you kinda sound desparate, maybe you would have a better chance if you didnt throw your money around. Leave out the word rich, and try educated maybe that would work better for you.

I can suggest ONE horror movie in the history of American cinema THAT DOES NOT KILL OFF THE BLACK CHARACTER:
"Alien vs. Predator" with Sanaa Lathan. Excellent!
Because the black character finally effin' outlives everybody!!! I'm surprised they didn't kill her off in the epilogue (end of credits)or in the pathetic sequel, where she doesn't even appear. If anyone has any other suggestions, please post it. I am dying to be wrong about this one. We survived slavery, but ugly Freddie and slow-walking Jason kill us? WTF? LOL.
