BlackVoices.com and Atlantic Records are teaming up to give some lucky readers the opportunity to win a copy of the soundtrack to the Lionsgate film 'For Colored Girls,' which arrives in theaters Nov. 5.
We are looking to bless our avid readers with a copy of the star-studded music event of the year.
To be released via the legendary Atlantic Records label on Nov. 2, the soundtrack features all-new and unreleased music from artists such as Gladys Knight, Macy Gray, Leona Lewis, Estelle, Laura Izibor, Janelle Monae, Sharon Jones, Simone Kelly, Lalah Hathaway and Ledisi.
The soundtrack sets the many stories of struggle told within the film's choreopoem to music that reflects the women's ongoing battle with love, abandonment and self-awareness.

I am soo looking forward to this movie, I can not wait! My sister and I have planned a girls night out. We have been waiting in anticipation since the announcment at Tyler Perry's play "Madea's Big Happy Family”. My sister is so excited, she played the Lady in Red in a high school production years ago. This is going to be momumental!

I remember as a young adult reading this book. It inspired me to work hard and never let anyone intimadate me to do something that I know is not right. I have installed these values in my children who are now adults and I am so proud of the adults they have become.

IT ALL. MY BIRTHDAY WAS YESTERDAY, 11/03 AND I AM
NOW 59 YEARS OF AGE. DURING MY LIFETIME, I HAVE WITNESSED THINGS THAT I EXPECTED NEVER TO SEE. I
BELEIVE THAT 'IF YOU DON'T STAND FOR SOMETHING, YOU
WILL FALL FOR ANYTHING. I TRY TO INSTILL THAT IN ALL OF MY GRANDCHILDREN AND DON'T ALLOW ANYONE TO TAKE YOUR PRIDE NOR DIGNITY AWAY FROM YOU. STAND TALL AND BELEIVE IN YOURSELF TO SURVIVE IN THIS WORLD TODAY. WE CANNOT ALLOW ANYONE TO KEEP TRYING TO SEND US BACKWARDS. TOO MANY PEOPLE HAVE DIED AND SUFFERED FOR OUR FREEDOM.

This going to be a wonderful movie protrayibg black woman. I love Tyler Perry and cannot wait for additional movies from him. He is very inspiring and I am headed towards a degree this inspires me to keep going just as Tyler Perry does. No matter what the trials you can see there is light at the end of the tunnel.
