I loved the movie. I seen it on opening day. Fantastic Tyler Perry is. I didn't cry but I had lump in my throat on certain parts. Tyler really stepped out of his element and showed what real movies of the world is all about. I really appauled his effort on this movie. The whole cast was wonderful even my future husband and baby daddy Hill Harper. I love you Hill.

Girl, I cannot stop thinking about Hill Harper!! I really liked the movie...the style of it will definitely open the door for others like it to follow. But, Hill looked EXTRA handsome in this film.

I rated the movie an 8 on a scale of 1 - 10. I did not like the spoken word throughout the movie. There was this guy in my neighborhood who drove to his babies' mama job, parked in the parking lot and poured gasoline on himself and the their two children inside his truck and lit them on fire. The little girl tried to get out of the truck but he held her in and the little boy did not put up a fight.

Thank you. Very well put. Funny. My girlfriend went to see it with some of her girlfriends. She called me afterwards asking me all sort of weird questions that pertained to things she saw in the movie.I am an Air Force and single at present .I need a woman who can love me back ..I also uploaded my hot photos on Uniformedmingle .c om under the name of hoho212..It's the largest and best club for seeking Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Police Force, and the admirers of those who wear the uniform.I just hope you don't mind me being a soldier ...Please Check it out!I'm serious.

Listening to some of the review, it would we intresting to here further on those who thought they had enough of tyler perry movies? one women in particular said no more of his movies for a while, can anyone eleborate further, is it because tyler went into a dark place he didn't want people to see african americans? this is happening in most communities, but i believe this movie shows that black people have done almost anything just to stay alive!I could be wrong, but most of us who have never lived in the hood would don't know about this type of lifestyle, i quess this film will be a real eye opener just like the movie precious. Altanta georga and places in the south have been oppressed for years, we may not have the shackles on our feet but racism is alive and kicking in the deep deep south, i would like to see a film on the prison system by tyler i have seen american violet a good strong film, i hope that men who see this will come clean spike lee and other black directors need to step upto the plate know.

No thanks. Too sad and depressing. We need uplifting in these times. I would have loved to have seen the beautiful actors, though. Best to you, Tyler, but I'll stick to your plays. Laughing keeps a smile on my face.
Blessings!

I hear you, but at the same time black women have always been the holder of the black race, a sister will hang onto a brother good or bad from way back in the day, even when they end on behind bars that sister will still be hanging on until her man get out that is the reality, the whole down low thing most men are into their freaky stuff but this has taken it to far, most women would have put up with all the bull Sh... and all but this for many draws the line, it couldn't be hidden for long because when a sister find out that she is sick and goes to the doctor and gets a test, and them bam the result is you/she is hiv positive right there it's a life sentence for her and the man, men don't mind who they have sex with as long as they have sex, women have become just as bad, though tyler showed the dark side of black relationships this is happening across the board in white communities the problem is bigger maybe some are mad because they don't others to know are business but remember they bought us here on the 1st slave ship themselves and made us there business? the only difference here is that tyler is showing us that our communities are dying, dying because of all of this shit, we are at the bottom of the pile and were sinking fast, yes some of his movies are dark but it is reality, it says to us listen this is the real deal this is everyday, not hollywood make belief, black men for so long have been beaten down, but the women kept them strong even when they have no job, they don't want them to go to prision, they don't want them to be beaten up, they want them to be strong, get educated, stay in school and fight back, fight back, and yes they would like to get married and not be living with a guy for 30 years and never get married or to have a baby boy "film by john singleton" let's see if other black directors can come through know and challenge tyler and show a different story, film makers always use stories and communities around them to tell a story, black films tell the truth and should always speak the truth, bollywood in india tells a different story, the reality in india is a different story it just depends which director is brave enough to say no no no this is the real india, the real america, mexico, or brazil and when rich and poor see such movies they can say to themselves we need to fix this? i didn't know this is what is happening right here in america, remember the back streets of america kill the dreams of america, that is why i like the fact that we have a sister in the whitehouse who came from the hood she know's the real deal, the brother is from a different world and he has a different outlook on how he views us, remember rev jessie jackson said off camera the president talks down to black people, the brother was bought up white, white people and many other races look down at black people anyway regardless if we are the first family in the whitehouse or scooping up garbage!Peace.

sadly, I agree with most of what you say. There is a column in the nov. 17 newspaper on "help black children in crisis" by Bob Herbert about mobilizing the black community to save the young people. There is also an article by Dr. Boyce on Aug 20 about Yoseph Robinson, a young black man who turned his life around (but most sadly, was murdered)- the comments show how many people were influenced by Yoseph. How do we develop more Yosephs to keep living?
Have hope!

I loved this movie, and if i did have a criticism it would be that i really didn't enjoy the poems which is odd for me because i love poems, but black women do not cover-sate like that, but like i said i loved this movie and i am buying the soundtrack..
