Looks like once again, not one African-American actor/actress or film or anything else was nominated for anything!!! What happened to Tyler Perry's movie???? As much as we think we have progressed, this lets us know how much we have NOT!!!

I feel ya Jayne? What HAPPENED? Tlyer Perry wasn't nominated? WHAT'S UP WITH THAT? I'm sure there are other Afro-American Actors/Actresses that SHOULD HAVE BEEN NOMINATED for this year's OCSAR'S!!! Why was MONIQUE smilin for? She sure not herself and puttin on a front? There were no Afro-Americans being nominated? It's not like they want her to be the HOST for this year? I in my opinion, I wouldn't have wanted to PRESENT LIVE the nominees this morning if this was the way it was going to be! Come on Ms. MONIQUE? WHY DID BV FEATURE THIS ARTICLE? Looks like I WON'T BE WATCHIN THE FIXED AZZ OSCARS THIS YEAR! Forget THAT!

You guys are insane. None of the Black films you mentioned where Oscar worthy. I'm sorry but the truth hurts. And while I agree that historically African Americans have been robbed of Oscars gold, there is not a film released this year that could compete with any of the black films or films that featured African Americans in prominent roles. I hear that while 'Night Catches Us' was a great movie, I believe the release date put them out of Oscars contention. I didn't see 'Frankie and Alice' either because it was in limited release and not showing in my city. However, I hear that while Halle gave a great performance, the movie otherwise was a dude. I saw a majority of the films nominated and I must say that as a movie lover the films were phenemenol. If we want to argue about anything, we need to discuss why an African American actress wasn't tapped to play one of the leading roles i.e Natalie Portman's role in 'Black Swan'. Or the fact that African Americans are not being cast in similar leading roles. Otherwise we need to stop complaining and make better movies that don't stereotype us or oversexualize us as a people. And while I do admire what Tyler Perry has been able to achieve, he clearly does not make movies to get awards other than the NAACP. Otherwise he would be making better movies. That's my two cents and some of you may not like it but the truth hurts.

First of all as an African American woman I agree that some of the movies that are made are not done very well. When you consider some of the trashy stuff that is made by whites, it its really sad. But that is always the excuse for whites....stop whining and live with it. Because it happens does not mean we should not respond to it. I agree there are good white actors, but there are also many AA who play excellent parts. If the association was not so white oriented, maybe we would have a slim chance. For the record, Tyler's re-adaption was EXCELLENT, but you probably have not see that one.

All I AM SAYIN, not just their wasn't no AFRO-AMERCIAN Actors/Actress for this year Oscars but WHY WAS THIS ARTICLE FEATURED ON BV if there weren't any? Doesn't make sense to me? I like TYLYER PERRY, all of his movies are INSPIRATIONAL to me. He is a very intelligent, humble, and a thankful man. It's a shame that a lot of Afro Amercian Actors/Actress don't get recognized or get the parts and a lot are DAMN GOOD!

Black actors need to go see the king Speech in droves and learn from it what great acting is all about. Most all black movies just suck and full of ghetto violence or buffoonery. We can do better, have the money yet don't. No one want to see black being their negatives selves but ghetto blacks.
