
Out on home video on Blu-ray and DVD is 'For Colored Girls,' the emotionally dramatic film from Tyler Perry, featuring a bevy of talent, including Janet Jackson, Loretta Devine, Michael Ealy, Kimberly Elise, Omari Hardwick, Hill Harper, Thandie Newton, Phylicia Rashad, Anika Noni Rose, Tessa Thompson, Kerry Washington, Whoopi Goldberg, Macy Gray, Khalil Kain, and Richard Lawson.
Adapted by writer/director Tyler Perry from Ntozake Shange's acclaimed choreopoem, nine women are the central characters who share their lives and experiences. Each woman is looking for different things in their lives. Some are acquaintances, some are not. But all of them are brought together through crisis, heartbreak and support which ultimately allows them to find commonality and understanding for issues that affect women, and women of color in particular.

This was a sad movie. T.P. should stick to his comedies, etc. Seemed like a "Maya Angelou" documentary, not a T.P. movie. Thumbs down. Sorry Perry, but you can do better.

I bought it furst! from wallyworld dis am on the 8th for my birthday tomorrow. The last day of the Chinese New year! Gung Hay Fat Choy. They should be dancing in the street with the Dragon,fire crackers and all of that crap.
This is to celebrate the year of the Wabbit! [rabbit]that is. I think they are supposed to multiply like them[chinese have sex as fast as rabbits,there are 100 million of them in the world,now they are gonna go for 200 mil?]You know do the big monkey, stop eat,do the bm, stop drink ect, that is whay they call it doing the big monkey like a Chinaman.

I think TP did a damn great job with dat play dodi page must not have seen the play back in 75,Hell maybe she was not an Embryo, I could tell the difference. Some people do not realize to update something you gotta inject some of yourself into the movie. WELL DONE! MR. PERRY!

I thought this was his best work.
I ask my english teacher if he had a book of the play when I was in high school after watching an episode of A different world when one of the characters was saying lines from the play and I was hooked since then. I wonder why this movie wasnt apart of the oscar buzz
