I think Martin is really talented but can we get Hollywood to do other types of films besides Black men dressed as ladies. Dave Chappelle was right. He said Hollywood is obsessed with seeing Black men dressed as women. He said he refused when they asked him......

I can't believe that a 3rd Big Momma's House was created! After I watched the 1st one I was surprised that anyone would consider making anymore of those movies with that unbelievable character and story line!

David Chapelle was absolutely right! And, here these BM continue to play these kinds of roles...again, and again! And, black people are only laughing at themselves, and don't even realize that reality! Nothing, but more black buffoonery!

It's a shame that Hollywood will do anything to continually emasculate black men. People will pay in droves to watch homosexually inspired fake drama and further discourage healthy black male, female relationships. If they were going to have a black man chasing a fat black woman throughout the movie, why not use a woman. Tired of Tyler Perry and Big Momma. I will pass on this movie and the next one portraying a black man as a woman, being pursued by another black man.

A question for all the haters out there….. When white people make a funny movie is that consider buffoonery too or is it just a black thing?

To Cole, since we can't get black men to stop liking other black men, why is this a problem? To some of you others, White men play these roles as well Dustin Hoffman, Robin Williams etc... as well as some women have played rolls as men. We live in a society where just about anything goes. Comedy is to laugh and if making light of something always has to be taken as a race issue, then those of you with the problem need to go seek counseling. As someone who was born and lived their early years of life in the South, I know the humor that we as black people had. Unfortunately some of you don't have relatives that were from that era so you don't have a clue as to the crazy stuff they did and said. But that's your misfortune, because you take everything as being so personal and negative toward our race. When I go to see movies like Big Mommas House, I go with the expectation of seeing something ficticious, something make believe, something that I know is not a 100% real. I go to laugh, to be entertained, and too forget about the real world. What kind of movie would you have if you couldn't make fun of stuff or be silly? what kind of comedy would that be? I'll tell you, it's not the kind of comedy I would want to see. Stop criticizing actors who are giving their "FANS" what they want to see, and start harrassing your idols to give you more of what you want to see! Personally, you all whining all the time is what I feel shows Black People in a bad light!

I normally don't comment on other's opinions but I must address the "pretzel logic" that; If White people do it why not Black people? There are a lot of things that White people do that I would be ashamed of doing as a Black person. Also, White people do not have a 300 year history of being portrayed as buffoons to live down. White portrayal of such characters are disassociated from real life unlike as is the case for Blacks.
Secondly, this is not entertainment! It is a avenue for Martin Lawerence/Tyler Perry to use black sterotypes to enrich themselfs. They have no respect for there race or sense enough to realize the damage that such movies have on the young Black males and females. It is an insult to all Black mothers/grandmothers to portray the Black female(character)in this manner. Martin Lawerence has no talent and cannot get any roles as an actor. He is a(has-been)stand-up comedian. He uses his limited name recognition to get the finacial backing of White producers to exploit Black people for the amusement of illiterate Blacks and condescending Whites. There are numerous Black actor/actress who have acheived prominence without
resorting to this black sterotype explortation.
Lastly, it is not considered "whining" when a real Black person calls out another Black person for disrespecting his race. We owe that much for all those who suffered and died so that we would be treated with respect and dignity. We are not going to let anyone no matter who, what color or stature to tear us down. Ever!!

Thank you William.....
Also if others do a movie like "Big Momma," they have in the very next theater a movie of substance to offset the silly movie. They'll have a movie showing their intelligence, their wealth and their family values.
We have just that one movie, maybe for months and it's Moma's Family.
Actually I can't think of a quality movie that we've lately.
