R&B crooner Eric Benét, who's about to get married to Manuela Testolini, Prince's ex-wife, will have a starring role in the independent film 'Trinity Goodheart,' which was written by Rhonda Freeman-Baraka.

Directed by cinematographer Joanne Hock, the film centers around a 12-year-old girl, played by Erica Gluck, on a mission to reunite her disjointed family, stated Variety.

Produced by Rick Eldridge's ReelWorks Studios, the film will debut at the American Black Film Festival (ABFF) in July before receiving a limited theatrical run.

The family entertainment GMC TV has acquired all broadcast and television rights.

The American Black Film Festival (ABFF) will be held in Miami, Florida during July 6-9, 2011.

Benét, who is currently promoting his latest album, 'Lost in Time,' had appeared on the television series 'For Your Love,' playing the role of Jamel.
